Task
As part of a pharmaceutical company´s site expansion, a new AP water storage system with a ring-shaped distribution network was to be created. A detailed automation concept was required that ensures complete integration into the existing PCS 7 system landscape. Key project tasks consisted of defining the system layout, specifying the network architecture, identifying new system components, and increasing system availability and operational reliability.
Solution
Lehmann Engineering took over the overall automation planning and realized a comprehensive project for the system integration into the existing infrastructure. We defined all relevant components, including control hardware, communication structures, network segmentation, and interfaces to building services and supply technology. The project also established key measures for reliability and system availability, forming the basis for the subsequent implementation.
Customer benefits
- Early automation planning as basis for later implementation
- Completely uniform operation of all AP water systems (both new and existing)
- Seamless integration into existing PCS 7 structures
- Clear definition of system boundaries and interfaces
- Significant increase in reliability and availability of AP water
